Parents of Holman Elementary students, please be advised that Holman Elementary has seen a higher percentage of Covid cases than Mora Campus. Please ensure that, if your child is sick, he/she stays home until he/she is fever free for 24 hours without medicine and symptoms have improved before sending them back to school. Symptoms may include cough, runny nose, sore throat and/or stomachache. Of course, our custodial and teaching staff is doing all possible to ensure surfaces are clean. Stay healthy!

Dear Parents, With the coronavirus (COVID-19) and other highly contagious seasonal sicknesses increasing in the Mora community, we would like everyone to know about the steps we are taking in our schools. Please be assured that our top priority is to maintain a safe environment for our children and staff. Mora ISD is following the guidance of the New Mexico Department of Health which is 5 days out / 5 days wearing a mask upon returning to school. We will certainly adjust protocols as necessary. Our custodians are using disinfectant foggers early in the mornings before staff and students arrive. They have also increased our daily disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, restroom faucets, tables and commonly handled areas. Every classroom is equipped with hand sanitizers, Lysol and disinfectant surface wipes. We are asking parents, to keep any children not feeling well home for their safety and the safety of others. We will call you to pick up your child should it seem they appear to have a cold or temperature. Together we can keep Mora ISD a healthy and safe environment. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter Respectfully, Norma Cavazos Superintendent

The MISD Board and I thank our school community for the tribute paid this past Friday to honor our veterans and active military personnel. The Mora Community has many ideals that bind us. First and foremost our children, followed by the love for our country, respect for our veterans, active military personnel and for our emergency service providers. Hearing our volleyball team sing the National Anthem at the last game and seeing the results of Ms. Leyba and the student council’s hard work in organizing a day of celebration for our veterans, are just a few examples of the caliber of our staff and students. They exemplify what Ranger and Rangerette Pride truly is. Respectfully, Ms. Cavazos

On behalf of the Mora Independent School district board of education, I want to thank the voters of Mora County for supporting both the Mill Levy and the debt service transfer. We recognize that voting to continue bonds and levies is not an automatic action.  We sincerely thank all those who voted to pass both so we can continue addressing problems with our school buildings and for upgrading our security technology systems. Respectfully, Norma Cavazos Superintendent of Mora Schools

Mora Community, Exert your right to vote on Tuesday, November 7th. We ask for your support by voting for our SB 9 mill levy bond. These funds help the district to repair, maintain buildings, playgrounds, fields, and landscaping for all of our schools. It will also pay for safety and security upgrades and accessibility features to make our schools work all. It will fund energy and water-wise projects so we can be better stewards of our natural resources. Voting for SB 9 will not raise your taxes. Thank you for your consideration and support.
