Hello parents, Thank you all for your interest in the summer reading program hosted at Collins Lake Ranch. As many of you know, there have been a number of issues getting students signed up through the state portal. Many of you were not able to register your children and we have not been able to identify who has signed up to date. To simplify matters, we are going to start registering students manually with Collins Lake and they will pass the final list to the State. EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO REGISTER WITH THE STATE, please send the following information to Steve Smaby at Collins Lake. Student Name Grade Level (24/25 school year) Parent Name, email and phone number Any other critical information (allergies, etc) Steve's email address is steve.smaby@gmail.com. His cell phone number is 281-630-0827 (if no answer, leave a message or send a text).

Good Morning Parents. Mora High School will be offering a credit recovery program starting June 10th from 9:00 am to 1 pm for six weeks, Monday through Thursday. The program is for students needing to retake courses they have NOT passed. It is not for students wanting to advance or get ahead on their studies. Please contact MHS counselor, Mrs. Amanda N. Trujillo or the principal, Mr. Lefonso Castillo, if you have questions about the classes your child may need to take in the credit recovery program. Lunch will be provided.

The Student Success and Wellness Bureau is happy to announce the release of the Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) website and application! Directly certified students that are currently participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and in some cases Medicaid (not all categories of Medicaid qualify) are automatically enrolled to receive a SUN Bucks card with the $120 benefit per student. Students who are Homeless/Runaway, Foster, Migrant, and Head Start are also automatically enrolled and do not have to apply. All other students that do not meet the automatic criteria above, including students attending a CEP school will need to apply to participate in SUN Bucks EBT. MISD is trying to increase parent involvement in our district. Children whose families are engaged in their education are more likely to: earn higher grades and score higher on tests, graduate from high school and college, develop self-confidence and motivation in the classroom, and have better social skills and classroom behavior. Please answer this short survey in regards to parent involvement for next school year. Deadline for submission is May 14th. Thank you and have a great weekend. *****Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the MISD school community. https://forms.gle/mVvG5rxwfYfuP2YX9

LGMS Parents/Guardians: Just a reminder that LGMS will be having a field trip to the Isotopes game tomorrow, May 2nd. Students must have a permission slip turned in prior to the field trip. The Isotopes personnel have stated that all bags/backpacks must be clear and the venue is cashless. Note, that parents may follow the bus. The game starts at 11:00 and the students will eat at the Golden Corral afterwards. Thank you for your patience and cooperation in making this year's field trip a success.
