Parents/Guardians and Students of Lazaro Garcia Middle School and Mora High School: Due to the Governor Mandated School Closures, we will be offering Virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences via Zoom today, October 22, from 1-6 pm. Please click on the links below to meet with your child(ren)’s teachers. Please note that once you click on the link you will be placed in a waiting room. The teacher will then invite you into the meeting. This will allow for teachers to meet with parents individually. If you do not have access to a computer, you may use the Zoom Number 1-877-853-5247 or 1-888-788-0099 and enter the meeting ID code and password. I would like to thank all the parents and students who participated in the Distance Learning Survey that was posted a couple of weeks ago. After a review of data, we felt the need to provide more time for “Live Instruction” to best meet your child(ren)s academic needs. Beginning November 2, Lazaro Garcia Middle School and Mora High School will be extending their remote learning schedule. A letter will be sent home to parents and students with regards to the change. With this new schedule your child(ren) will have an allotted time to begin and hopefully complete their homework in class. As we all know there are many families that are affected by the uncertainty of the Luna Fire. As a staff, we understand that some of our students may not be able to log onto their classes at this time. If you are one of these students please call the office so we can make arrangements for your classes. Thank you, parents, for your continued support during this time. If you any questions, please feel free to contact me via 575-387-3123 or my cell at 505-603-6454. Please visit our school site web pages for more information. Due to the surge of COVID-19 cases, we have suspended in person learning until a tentative date of January 18th, of course this is contingent on the pandemic situation. If cases decrease there is a potential of bringing in students earlier. The return of all students is dependent upon New Mexico Health Orders. Please contact your building principals if you have any questions.

Attention parents of students at Lazaro Garcia Middle School and Mora High School students. New Mexico Public Education Department has mandated that all Middle and High Schools in New Mexico implement a distance learning program consisting of recorded video instruction, live sessions and independent work to keep students engaged in learning. As the end of the first 9-weeks nears, we are requesting that you complete the following survey in regards to their learning experiences during the first 45 days of school. These surveys are anonymous, so we will not know who has participated. Our sole purpose is to document how well distance-learning is working in our schools and identify ways to make it work better. If you have any questions feel free to contact the office at 575-387-3122 or 575-387-3123 Thank you, in advance, for sharing your thoughts and questions over these past couple of months and for your flexibility to positively approach another unprecedented nine-week period. Yours in leadership and learning, Lefonso Castillo, Principal *******Please note that the following survey only applies to students enrolled in Lazaro Garcia Middle School and Mora High School. https://forms.gle/6YRnU13UbV9B8fm58
