Mora/Holman Elementary Students will be dismissed at 11:30 am today. Parents/Guardians may pick up at their students at the Elementary Gym. There will be no bus service until after school.
Mora Elementary parents, this morning we have a technician working on our boiler system. When staff entered the building this morning, there was a smell of gas so students were in the gym until the building was deemed safe to re-enter. As always, the safety of our students and staff is of our utmost concern and priority.
MISD parents, please be advised that staff is not on duty to supervise students until 7:45 a.m. In order to ensure safety, students should not be dropped off prior to this time.

This is a friendly reminder that Mora ISD is a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school, which means all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Tomorrow, November 19th, the cafeteria will undergo a review, and it is crucial that students participate in the breakfast and lunch program as this directly impacts our funding.
We kindly ask for your support in encouraging your children to take part in these meals not only tomorrow but every day. Daily participation helps sustain this valuable program and ensures we can continue providing free meals for all students.

MISD community, our school will be in a shelter in place beginning at about 3:35 pm today due to a helicopter needing to airlift an individual from the baseball field. Please be advised that you will not be able to enter or leave during this time. Buses and students will be kept safe until the shelter in place is lifted. Thank you for your understanding.
Mora Parents and Community:
A very special thank you to Representative Joseph Sanchez from District 40 who secured a $185,000 appropriation for MISD. These funds were earmarked for the district to start replacing the older vehicles in the fleet.
To date, we have had two Traverses delivered and within the next couple of weeks, a new suburban to transport students and a single cab pickup with a snowplow attached will be delivered.

MEET OUR LAZARO GARCIA MIDDLE SCHOOL STAFF

Due to a lack of running water in Peñasco as of November 11th, today’s game is canceled. We apologize for the inconvenience. Middle school boys will practice at 6 PM, and middle school girls will practice from 3 to 4:30 PM.

Middle school boys basketball practice Saturday, November 9 at 10:00 am to 11:30 am and Sunday, November 19 at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Uniforms will be given Sunday for the game on Monday.
Mora ISD Parents:
This afternoon, Holman Elementary experienced what appears to be an electrical fire. Starting Tuesday, November 12th, the Holman students will be temporarily housed at Mora Elementary.
As soon as we make the necessary repairs and get the clearance from the fire investigator, we will resume classes at Holman.

Due to the anticipated snow accumulation and weather conditions, MISD will have asynchronous learning on Thursday (11/7) and Friday (11/8). Students will be provided assignments via Google Classroom or from their teachers in paper packet form. Staff will be available for any questions that may arise. Furthermore, per MISD calendar there will be no school for students on Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans' Day. Stay safe, stay warm, and have a great weekend!
