EBT cards for our students!
The New Mexico PED and HSD are working together to provide EBT Cards for students to purchase food. All students from Mora Independent Schools will receive benefits of $5.70 per day for the 70-day period from March 16, 2020 when public schools were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through June 19, 2020.
March, April and May benefits will be mailed in late May while the June payment will be sent later and will continue through the average date of normal school closures. The cards will be mailed to each student's home; therefore, we will be working to ensure the addresses we provide to the PED are accurate. If you already receive SNAP benefits, the additional amount will automatically be added to your account instead of a card being mailed out.
To help ensure you receive your card, if applicable, please confirm your mailing address by contacting Beverly Dobbins-Montoya at BMontoya@k12.nm.us or by calling at 575-387-3105, please include your name and the following student information:
Mora Independent Schools Parking Lot WiFi
As part of a larger effort to keep New Mexico connected, Mora ISD is offering easy to access guest WiFi in the areas highlighted in green (in front of the cafeteria and the small gym). We are now utilizing our Google for Education platform to provide our students with assignments in online classrooms. Students that need internet access to submit homework assignments or to access Google Classroom can connect to our guest network. The initiative is also designed to accommodate community members that need internet connectivity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please adhere to all social distancing guidelines and remain in your vehicles while using the free WiFi. Please be respectful and use the connection for educational and business purposes only. Remember that all traffic will be monitored and filtered by the District.
If you have any questions please contact Bo Sanchez MISD IT Manager.
